Difference Between RCIC And Agent

Roles, Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Regulation and Licensing
RCICs are authorized and regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). They are required to adhere to a strict code of professional conduct and maintain their knowledge of the latest developments in immigration law and policy. Visa agents, on the other hand, are not regulated by a specific governing body and may not have the same level of expertise or qualifications.
Knowledge and Expertise
RCICs undergo rigorous education and training to become experts in Canadian immigration law, policies, and procedures. They are equipped to handle complex immigration cases and provide accurate advice. Visa agents, while they may have some knowledge of the immigration process, might not have the same level of expertise as RCICs.
Accountability
As RCICs are regulated by the CICC, they are held accountable for their actions and the quality of their service. In case of any misconduct or unethical practices, clients can file a complaint with the ICCRC. Visa agents do not have the same level of accountability, and clients may have a harder time seeking recourse in case of any issues.
Services Offered
RCICs can offer a wide range of immigration services, including assistance with applications for permanent residency, temporary residence, study permits, work permits, and more. They can also represent clients in communications with the Canadian government. Visa agents may offer similar services but may not have the same depth of knowledge or experience.
